Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino at NEXT Berlin 2012

We increasingly connect things to the internet – without big efforts, because already existing technologies like RFID can be used for this purpose. Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino is one of the few women who are not only part of this development, but also driving and advancing it.

At NEXT Berlin 2012 she gave us an insight into ways of how the internet of things can ease our everyday lives. But what’s even more important: She also points out how it allows new forms of connecting with other people. The internet of things has the potential to give beings and things a voice, which have been inaudible before.

Alexandra Deschamps-Sonsino is an interaction designer, who has been focussing on the internet of things since 2005. She founded the company Designswarm, which supports clients in terms of conception, design and production of connected objects. She is also part of the Really Interesting Group and developed & launched the Good Night Lamp.
