Gaps

Conor Delahunty is a designer who worked for the agency Made by Many (Paul Sims, who is a Service Designer there, spoke at the conference as well). At NEXT Service Design he talked about the gaps – the little imperfections of a products or service that give people the space to use their own creativity. He complained that designers always try to map everything out and try to find the perfect solution. Instead they should rather develop simple tools that allow people to use them creatively. That way, applications for the tool will occur that no designer ever could have thought of.
