Dr. Holger Schmidt betreut in der Wirtschaftsredaktion der F.A.Z. die Themen Internet, Umwelt, Energie und Videospiele sowie die wöchentlich erscheinende Sonderseite „Netzwirtschaft". Als „Internet-Koordinator" kümmert er sich um die Zusammenarbeit zwischen Zeitungs- und Internetredaktionen im Online-Auftritt der F.A.Z. Seine ersten Erfahrungen im Journalismus sammelte er während der Abiturzeit bei der Rhein-Zeitung. Danach folgte das Studium der Volkswirtschaftslehre, die Tätigkeit als Mitarbeiter am Lehrstuhl für Entwicklungsländerforschung in Gießen, die Promotion über die internationalen Verteilungswirkungen des Klimaschutzes. Kurz danach trat er in die Wirtschaftsredaktion der F.A.Z. ein.
Dr Holger Schmidt works on the business editorial team of the F.A.Z., where he is responsible for topics relating to the Internet, the environment, energy, and video games as well as the weekly "Netzwirtschaft" page. As Internet Coordinator, he facilitates cooperation between the newspaper and online editorial staff for the FAZ website.
He gained his first journalism experience at the Rhein-Zeitung while he was finishing secondary school. He then studied economics, worked as an assistant at the Department for Developing Country Research in Gießen, and earned a doctorate with a dissertation on the international redistributive effects of climate protection. Shortly afterwards, he joined the business editorial staff of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
