Hello, and welcome to the NEXT blog.

The annual NEXT conference has always pushed at the boundaries of new ideas in digital culture. Last year’s conference dived deep into the oceans of big data, just as general awareness of the sheer possibilities it offers was opening up. The conference team intends to do the same this year with the idea of Post Digital – that state of culture where digital is no longer something separate, to be focused on in isolation, but a throughly integrated part of that culture’s structure, blending with non-digital ideas seamlessly.

The difference this year is that we’re going to start exploring those ideas on the site in the months before the conference. Hence, this blog. Between now and the conference itself in May, we’ll be using this space to start to chase out the key issues around some of the ideas that will be the focus of the conference itself: namely “what is Post Digital?” and “how is it already manifesting itself in our culture?”

In the main you can expect to see:

  • In depth pieces exploring aspects of Post Digital culture as they apply to different areas of business or society
  • Links to other interesting posts about Post Digital elsewhere on the web
  • The best videos of presentations from earlier NEXT conferences
  • Guest posts from speakers and track organisers from the conference

We hope you find what’s coming interesting, entraining and, most of all, thought-provoking.
