Last Week, we successfully launched NEXT Service Design. Now, we’re building a new ship, which will clear the port on 23 & 24 April: NEXT Berlin 2013. It’ll lead our expedition to the future of the digital industry.

We live in rather unpredictable times of rapid change. Established tradelanes and beaten paths end abruptly or may even lead into the abyss. We need to adjust quickly to new situations, but what lies ahead of us is unkmown territory, unchartered waters. On a medieval world map, these white spots confronting the discoverer on his journeys to new horizons were marked with mythological creatures or the phrase: ‘Here be dragons‘; an expression that well suits the years to come.

In order to cope with the dragons – the challenges ahead – we need to find new ways, new business models, new tools. To stay abreast of change, it’s important to know what awaits you. At NEXT Berlin 2013, we’ll provide you with a map of the future. We’ll show you the most important routes and new continents. And, maybe, together we’ll find some of the dragons in inspiring talks and vivid discussions: challenges you need to embrace, that will give you the edge. Or challenges for which you need to prepare your company, which force you to rethink your way of doing business. To pivot.

We can ride some of the dragons, and some of them must be slain – else they will eat us alive. We don’t consider dragons to be invincible opponents, but rather we see them as opportunities that carry great potential. And in some cases, our own ignorance or sluggishness is the actual dragon we need to defeat.
