Bar a big announcement or two, this has been something of a wearable computing/quantified self week on the blog. Let’s bring that to a conclusion by rounding up some further reading on the subject, if you still have a hunger for more information.
CES 2013 earlier in the month seems to have been the driver for this, with a host of wearable computing innovations coming our way. In many ways, they are the most immediately commercial expression of the internet of things – handy little devices which aren’t quite full fledged computers in their own right, but which feed data and utility into our lives. - The Lifestream Blog did a handy round-up of the best health and fitness gadgets to emerge at CES 2013. It’s wearable activity trackers all the way, folks…
- GigaOm goes the other direction, by looking at trends not gadgets – and finds nine trends you should watch. Any article that alludes to a war starting in the bedroom has to be worth a read. And it’s persuaded me that I might be wearing a watch for the first time in three years before 2013 is done.
