Federal Minister Thomas de Maizière to speak at NEXT14!

NEXT Berlin is well-known as a must-go conference for tech and marketing trends in Germany. Besides great speakers like Brad Templeton and Cory Doctorow, we are very delighted to welcome influential politicians at NEXT14 on May 5-6.

Important influencers in net politics will join NEXT Berlin this year: Thomas de Maizière, Federal Minister of the Interior in Germany, and Parliamentary State Secretary Brigitte Zypries. These two politicians will open and close NEXT14 on May 5-6 at bcc Berlin.

With its spectacular programme, NEXT14 will kick off the Berlin Web Week on May 5. Brigitte Zypries will be opening the first session. As Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, Brigitte Zypries was responsible for the ‘Monitoring Report for Digital Economy 2013’. For her, the digital economy is one of the major growth industries. She said: “The distinct increase of investments in this industry shows the high dynamic of the digital business.”

Federal Minister of the Interior, Thomas de Maizière, will hold a keynote in the closing session of day two. Together with two Federal Ministers of other government departments, he is responsible for digital topics in German policy. He will talk about the plans of the German government regarding the digital agenda, the digital society and data privacy.
