NEXT22: making the most of the Reeperbahn Festival

NEXT22 x Reeperbahn Festival: our digital festival is right in the heart of Europe’s greatest music event, so you can blend the two for an unparalleled mental and cultural experience. Here’s how.

You might think you’re coming to Hamburg for a digital conference. If you hit the Reeperbahn the night before, you’ll quickly get a feeling that something else is happening. And it is. NEXT happens alongside and in partnership with one of the world’s leading music and arts festival, and to get the complete NEXT experience, you’ll need to feed your soul as well as your mind.

That Festival Feeling

NEXT22 happens right at the heart of the Reeperbahn Festival. This long-established event is both the biggest club festival in Europe and the largest international European platform for pop culture and the music industry. We’re collaborating with the Festival for our Creative Tech stage on the 22nd of September.

But our involvement with the Festival goes further than that. We’ll have acts live on the main stage to open sessions and welcome you back from breaks. And we have a combined ticket available that also gives you access to the Festival itself. That opens up a huge range of events:

Explore a new world of music

The festival welcomes a huge range of performers, who are pushing the boundaries of artistic expression and music connection. You’ll find both the acts of the future, and those who are in the process of becoming the new mainstream of culture.

Earlier in the month, the Festival announced 68 new acts added to the programme, including:

  • Alice Merton, whose new album S.I.D.E.S hit the top 10 across Europe
  • KLAN gives a fresh new vibe to German language rock
  • Verifiziert artfully blends contemporary R’n’B, cloud rap and beats ranging from reggaeton to lo-fi house with cloud pop.

Feeling Appy?

If you want to make the most of your NEXT x Reeperbahn Festival experience, you can get the festival app on your phone now. You can pick gigs on at venues around you, and even see current occupancy levels in the venue, to see if you’re in with a chance of getting in.

An Elbphilharmonie experience

While you might associate the festival with bars, clubs and theatres, there’s more to it than that. For two days of the Festival, the beautiful Elbphilharmonie will host concerts as part of the Festival. This five-year-old concert venue is among the largest in the world. Designed as a graceful glass wave sat atop an original 1960s warehouse by the river, it usually plays host to classical music.

But, for the final night of NEXT, you could experience the space playing host to more popular music styles. When you pick up your ticket from the Schmidt’s Tivoli on the 23rd, you’ll be able to choose from a ticket for one of two concerts:

You might need to be quick. We only have a limited number of tickets for both shows.
