Kate Stone: 6 Reasons Why the Future Will Look More Like the Past

Kate believes the future might look more like the past than the present. In her work at Novalia, she uses ordinary printing processes combined with conventional electronics to create extraordinary experiences. As her work has progressed, she has started to believe that finding the extraordinary in the ordinary may be a way that humans and their environment can flourish rather than flounder. Combining meaning, resilience, mindfulness and community with shrinking technology, we have the ingredients for a potentially brighter and more sustainable future. In this talk, Kate demonstrates some of her interactive printed experiences and discusses the philosophical aspects of why humans may seek out a future more like the past than the present.
