The COVID-19 crisis has accentuated some of the most pressing urban challenges: the need for innovative public services, addressing job precariousness, or accelerating the economic, ecological and social transition. Francesca Bria is an innovation economist and digital policy expert, working at the intersection of technology, geopolitics, economics and society. She has been advising the United Nations on Digital Cities and Digital Rights and is the former CTO of the City of Barcelona. In her work and in this talk she investigates the relationship between urban digital infrastructures as well as access to and deployment of data for the public interest.
