Markus Barnikel is CEO of carpooling.com, the web's largest and most powerful ridesharing network.

He is an Internet executive with over 16 years of experience, including management of mid to large size organizations, corporate development, product development, business operations, marketing, sales and strategy. In the past ten years, Markus Barnikel has held various leadership positions at Yahoo! worldwide – including most recently: Chief Sales Officer in Australia and New Zealand, Global Director of Sales in the United States with the responsibility for media distribution in Europe, Asia and Latin America, as well as Regional Head of Business Development in Singapore in charge of Business Development, Marketing and Communications for Yahoo! in South East Asia.

Markus Barnikel holds a master degree in International Business from the European Business School in London.
