Christian Heise studied, did his doctorate and lectured at Leuphana University. At the Centre for Digital Cultures - in Lüneburg - in the field of digital knowledge cultures he wrote his very first open doctoral thesis, which you can have a look at here. In this case, an open doctoral thesis means that the work could be viewed on the Internet at any time during the entire period of creation and research. In addition, the political scientist was chairman of the Open Knowledge Foundation Deutschland e.V. until the beginning of 2018. (okfn.de) and founding member of Förderverein Freie Netzwerke e.V. (freifunk.net). It is therefore no coincidence that Christian is so innovative. It is therefore only logical that Christian Heise has been working for Google since 2015. First he helped to establish the Google DNI Innovation Fund and has been News Product Partnerships Manager since May 2018. In this function, he is responsible for all products with a focus on the publishing and news industries in Germany, Austria and Switzerland as well as in Benelux and the northern European countries.

Christian has gained experience in the news world through various positions in the German publishing landscape, including at DIE ZEIT and dpa.
