Dirk Hörig is CEO and co-founder of commercetools. He drives the strategic direction of the company’s development and core vision to replace enterprise legacy software with flexible cloud based solutions. With the shift in the business model from SaaS to PaaS, commercetools introduces an open system to the e-commerce software market and enables anyone from a single developer to international agencies and merchants to participate in global commerce through the power of cloud computing.

Dirk is an entrepreneur and executive who has led several Internet companies from the very beginning to proven commercial success. In 2002 he started his first company out of university which developed and launched online stores. After overcoming the problems of traditional software, 4 years later, Dirk and a former colleague re-invented enterprise e-commerce software by founding commercetools in 2006. To this date, Dirk and his team have successfully accomplished hundreds of projects for SMEs to global players like Red Bull, Burton, and Puma, to name a few.

Being a strong believer in the start-up ecosystem, Dirk shapes and supports the regional start-up community as a speaker, mentor and friend.
