Jenny is Director Global Digital Marketing at Hapag-Lloyd, the fifth largest container shipping company in the world. She has been building from scratch and expanding Global Marketing for four years. Further she is responsible for a digital, scalable marketing model in 144 countries and is helping to drive the digital transformation within the company. In doing so, it is essential to develop a deep understanding of customers in order to be able to better address local needs in addition to global requirements. She is convinced that such a far-reaching transformation can only succeed with everyone on board. It will require a cultural change within the company. As the granddaughter of a captain, her passion for seafaring runs in her family.

Jenny Gruner took her first steps in logistics at Hermes Europe, where she was responsible for the online marketing activities of the 13 Hermes companies at Group level and played a key role in driving forward measures in China and the US.

Prior to that, she built up digital marketing at the industrial company Pfannenberg Europe, repositioned the brand identity, was responsible for the web relaunch for nine international companies in 13 languages, and managed international and cross-functional teams to efficiently and effectively interlink global and local marketing measures.

Jenny Gruner earned her first digital spurs at the performance agency Eprofessional, where she started in account management and later headed up marketing. Here she learned the basic values of digitalization, new work and modern leadership, so that today she can act as a bridge builder between tradition and modernity in a traditional company like Hapag-Lloyd.

She lost her heart to B2B marketing early on, as it still holds enormous potential and represents a virtually untapped piece of digital land. Her mission is to transform and digitize B2B marketing, putting the customer at the center of everything she does to lead companies into the future. Jenny is a keynote speaker and regularly appears on various stages at dmexco, OMKB, DialogSummit or Mobile Marketing Association Impact Conference. She is also author of her column on digital marketing and female empowerment at the DUP Unternehmer Portal, contributed as an author to the B2B Marketing Handbook and enriches the marconomy expert network with her B2B expertise. Her motto: Sharing is caring!
