Before that, Jochen worked as a consultant for major media companies. He has been been editor-in-chief of the news site focus.de and developed it into one of the largest and fastest growing news outlets in Germany.

As Managing Director of TOMORROW FOCUS Media, the largest digital advertising firm in Germany, he was responsible for innovative media projects like the aggregator nachrichten.de. He founded mag10, an ecosystem for the creation, distribution and marketing of tablet media.

Jochen founded jonet, the largest German-speaking journalism community, in 1994.
