Katja Nettesheim is the Founding Partner of _MEDIATE. _MEDIATE provides services in the areas of Strategic Business Development and capital raising or M&A to traditional media companies and start-ups. In addition, since 2009, Katja is a professor for Media Management at MHMK, a private university of applied sciences with a focus on media.

In her work with both groups of clients – traditional media houses as well as start-ups - she often discovers the main root of a company’s problem to be in the business model; or, as she calls it, in the “value creation structure”. E.g., start-ups often do not give sufficient attention to the components of their value creation being harmoniously aligned. Hence, the goal of her workshop at NEXT 2012 is to increase the awareness for this aspect.
Katja is a published author of well-known German media trade magazines HORIZONT and W&V, as well as a frequent speaker at publishers’ and start-up events.

She built her career on previous legs as a lawyer in International Corporate & Tax at Shearman & Sterling, as a strategy consultant with The Boston Consulting Group, and in different managerial positions at Axel Springer.
