Michael is an entrepreneur, consultant, keynote speaker and has been co-host of the podcast "On the Way to New Work" for over 7 years. After studying business administration and completing a doctorate in ecology-orientated marketing, he started his career at Bossard Consultants and held positions as Managing Director at Springer & Jacoby and Global CMO at Audi. Michael has been an entrepreneur since 2004. kempertrautmann became thjnk, an agency group that today employs almost 500 people. Michael is also one of three founders of HYROX, a global fitness competition that was recently voted one of the 50 most innovative companies in the world by Fast Company. For the past three years, he has been working as a consultant, trainer, and coach for better working with his current start-up NWMS GmbH (New Work Masterskills).

He has received numerous awards for his work, such as "Man of the Year" (horizont), Top 40 under 40 in European Marketing, Global Newcomer Agency of the Year as well as LinkedIn Top Voice and member of the "Hall of Future". In the more than 430 episodes of his podcast, he has spoken with business leaders, innovative thinkers, and scientists (including Harvard, Stanford, INSEAD, St. Gallen) about the future of work. He is also co-author of the book “On the Way to New Work”, which was published in 2022 and became a bestseller.

Together with his son Oskar, he hosts the intergenerational mentoring podcast "Zoomer meets Bommer".
