Nora Abousteit is a "rare leader who can pull together technology, publishing, and fashion, and inspire people" (Fast Company).
Nora recently founded Kollabora.com, a new craft supply marketplace with communities for DIYers, where you find everything from inspiration, instructions, to shopping supplies; starting with knitting, sewing, and jewelry making.
Before Kollabora, Nora started the DIY fashion community BurdaStyle.com, with over 750,000 members now an icon in the sewing world.
Nora is part of the founding team of the DLD (Digital Life Design) conference.
She has been invited to share her experience at Web 2.0 Expo, Picnic, Parsons School of Design, and the WEF Media Summit.
Her work has appeared in The NY Times, Wired, BusinessWeek, Women's Wear Daily, and Fast Company. She sits on the board of the Craft and Hobby Association.
Nora grew up in Germany, graduated from the American University in Cairo, and lives in Brooklyn, NY.
