Petra Perner

Petra Perner is the director of the Institute of Computer Vision and Applied Computer Sciences in Leipzig, Germany. Under her leadership the institute developed to one of the leading institutes in basic and applied research in computer vision, data mining, machine learning, case-based reasoning and image databases.
She received a diploma degree in electrical engineering in 1981 and a PhD degree in computer science in 1985. In 1989 she finished her habilitation thesis entitled "A Methodology for the Development of Knowledge-Based Image-Interpretation Systems".
