PD Dr Sara Sheikhzadeh is Managing Director of Asklepios Kliniken Hamburg GmbH and Chief Medical Officer of Asklepios Kliniken GmbH & Co. KGaA. A distinguished physician and healthcare leader, she combines extensive clinical expertise with many years of senior management experience.

Her career began in cardiology at the University Heart Centre Hamburg within the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. She went on to hold senior positions at the university’s central emergency department, ultimately serving as Chief Senior Physician and Deputy Emergency Coordinator. From 2015 to 2021, she was Chief Physician of the central emergency departments at Asklepios Klinik Harburg and Asklepios Klinik St. Georg, shaping emergency care across two of Hamburg’s most important hospitals.

In 2022 she joined the executive board of Asklepios Kliniken GmbH & Co. KGaA as Chief Medical Officer, and in 2023 she was appointed Managing Director of Asklepios Kliniken Hamburg GmbH. She also serves as a member of the supervisory boards of Universitätsklinikum Gießen und Marburg GmbH and RHÖN-KLINIKUM AG.

Dr Sheikhzadeh is recognised for her leadership in modern hospital management, her commitment to patient-centred care, and her significant contribution to the development of emergency medicine in Germany.
