After completing his degree as a Media Designer, Steffen Bärenfänger worked for over 15 years as a freelance creative and director at and for some of Germany’s most renowned advertising and digital agencies including Jung von Matt, Kolle Rebbe, VCCP, Scholz & Volkmer, Razorfish and Pixomondo.
During this time he also taught at the Macromedia Academy in Cologne and was represented as a director by Driven by Creatives.
From 2012 until 2015, Bärenfänger worked as the Integrated Creative Director at GREY Germany in Düsseldorf where he was responsible for integrated campaign development. He has worked with renowned clients such as Allianz, Telefonica, Deutsche Knochenmark Spende and was responsible for winning numerous new businesses.
He then moved to Publicis Pixelpark in Frankfurt as Executive Creative Director, where he supported the branch management along with the Savencia, Cadillac, L’Oréal Garnier and Nestlé portfolios.
In the course of his career, Steffen Bärenfänger has received numerous awards from organizations such as the Art Directors Club Deutschland, Clio, Eurobest, NY Festivals, Golden Awards of Montreux, Cresta Award, GWA Effie as well as the world’s most important advertising festival in Cannes, where he was also part of the 2018 Cannes Lions Jury, representing the supreme discipline ‘Film’.
