Currently, Ulrich Coenen is working as a Co-Chairman of the Board at Atruvia, an IT service provider of the German Cooperative Financial Group.

In the past, he joined the Commerzbank in 2015, Ulrich Coenen initially headed the digitalization projects in the corporate banking segment. His previous role included the responsibility for digital banking, CRM and retail marketing. From 2010 onwards, Ulrich Coenen was Chief Innovation Officer and board member at #3 German mobile telecommunications operator E-Plus (now part of Telefonica Germany).

Before that, Ulrich headed E-Plus’ digital activities and was CEO of a retail subsidiary. Between 2002 and 2008 he has been in charge of different business units and a variety of strategic initiatives within the E-Plus Group and its mother company, Royal Dutch KPN. Earlier steps in his professional career were with Vodafone and Mannesmann Corporation.

He is a business angel for startups and speaker on topics around business model transformation and digital services. Holding an economics degree, Ulrich is as well formally trained in psychology, executive coaching and change management.
