William Hurley, 'whurley', is the CEO/Co-founder of Austin-based quantum computing startup Strangeworks and author of “Quantum Computing for Babies”. As a speaker, author, entrepreneur, and digital citizen, he believes that leveraging technology to solve our problems, not just as consumers but as citizens, is the most exciting and noble challenge we face.
Prior to Strangeworks, whurley most recently founded Honest Dollar (which was acquired by Goldman Sachs just a year after launch). He’s also an Eisenhower Fellow, mentoring students to make the transition from classical to quantum computing and a co-founder and mentor for EQUALS (www.equals.org), a global partnership for gender equality in the digital age.
whurley has spoken at the United Nations, ISoJ, SXSW, and multiple TEDx events, on topics from cyber security to the omnipresence of what used to be called the future and is now just called the way we live.
