Matthias Wölfel is a Professor of Intermedia Design at Pforzheim University, Germany and founder and CEO of ColorfulBit. His research interests include interaction design, human-computer and human-computer-human interaction, digital culture, art and media theory, speech and language processing, computer vision, and computer graphics. He has studied electrical engineering, information technology and computer science at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany, University of Massachusetts, Dartmouth, MA, USA, and Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), Pittsburgh, PA, USA. Before his appointment to the Pforzheim University he has worked for the ZKM|Center for Art and Media and has been lecturing at KIT, the Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University, and the University of Art and Design Karlsruhe. He is an active contributor to the art and research community.
