Three New Members for our Advisory Board

With next10 our Advisory Board is facing it’s second next conference. With next10 our Advisory Board is facing it’s second next conference. At the same time – and that’s the news now – we are happily welcoming three new members: Monique van Dusseldorp, Sören Stamer and Hartmut Esslinger. Some of you might recognize them as two of them formerly appeared on stage (Monique van Dusseldorp @ next09, Sören Stamer @ next08) and as all of them are well-known names in the industry.

Monique van Dusseldorp is an active freelance programmer of seminars and conferences on creativity, innovation, ICT and future developments. Over the last 10 years she initiated and organised a series of internationally renowned events, all with a top line of speakers. In 1998 she founded Van Dusseldorp & Partners, a research and events company focussed on European internet development, working for international clients. She held the position of CEO until she started freelancing in 2003. She was the program director of PICNIC, an Amsterdam cross media festival from 2006-2008, and is presently Program Director for TEDxAmsterdam and a number of other industry events, mostly in the field of media and technology.

Sören Stamer is the co-founder of the German software corporation CoreMedia. He founded it in 1996 together with his former professor and two postgraduated friends at the University of Hamburg. After being CEO for 13 successful years he stepped back in June 2009 for private reasons and now serves as top advisor to CoreMedia. With his special interest in systems theory and social systems he’s an expert on looking closely at the question of how corporations should ideally be organised in order to exist in times of global networks and Web 2.0. Seeing CoreMedia’s success he not only talks the talk but walks the walk.

Hartmut Esslinger is a well-known expert on industrial design. He serves as Chief Design and Innovation Officer to the German trademark TELEFUNKEN that focuses on innovation and development in information and communication technology. He is also top advisor to the global innovation firm frog design which was founded by him back in 1969. With his work he has helped to develop the modern consumer aesthetic, through revolutionary products like the Sony Trinitron and Apple Macintosh computer. Furthermore he’s Founding Professor of the Hochschule für Gestaltung in Karlsruhe, Germany, has an Honorary Doctorate of Fine Arts from the Parson School of Design, University of New York, and is an Honorary Member of the Design Academy of Mexico.

Reading this probably makes you see why we’re so excited to reckon them among our Advisory Board. Installed with next09, the board’s function is to consult the conference organiser SinnerSchrader concerning the programme and speaker acquisition. It also has a crucial function for the Call of Participation procedure: All members review the applications and decide who will receive a slot in the next conference programme.
