Zbigniew Braniecki is a social activist, software engineer and sociologist who works on Internet communities and is investigating various models of motivation and co-operation. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Mozilla Europe and is involved in Mozilla community building and localization efforts.

Zbigniew has been involved in the creation of Flock, an internet browser designed to facilitate social interaction - a part of his decade-long experience in writing free and open software which supports people in building communities. He is also interested in exploring approaches to leaderless project organisation. Zbigniew describes himself as a community ninja (an apt title for a mixed martial arts practitioner), and that is in fact his designated function at Mozilla where he is currently working on preserving choice and innovation on the Internet.
