Carlo Dannies was born and grew up in the region of Germany called the Magdeburger Börde. He completed his studies in economics at the University in Halle-Wittenberg. After completing his studies, Mr. Dannies began working at the Hamburger Sport-Verein (HSV) holding positions in various departments including Ticketing and Business Integration. Today, Mr. Dannies is the Head of Information and Communication Technology at HSV and is responsible for all aspects of IT at the Volksparkstadium and club itself and has been responsible for driving and implementing a number of IT innovation initiatives. In addition to his work at HSV, Mr. Dannies is in the process of writing his doctoral thesis at the Martin Luther University on the topic of "Entry fees in European Professional Football."
