Matthias Bauer founded his first company at age 16, explaining the internet and the web to small and medium sized companies. He has since worked in diverse fields from computational linguistics and datamining over IT security to e-commerce, consulting with some of the biggest companies in the sector, and always getting back into software engineering and product management, building e-commerce software (SelfmadeShop/Commerzo™, Rock N Shop, talaria, actindo), social networks (Napalm Riot™), and publishing platforms (Habari). In his free time, he is an avid photographer, contributes to Free and Open Source software, and is trying to bring more startups and tech events to Hamburg with Silicon Harbor.
