Roland Keppler took on the responsibilities of chief executive with the Daimler subsidiary car2go on the 1st of December 2014. Here, Roland Keppler fosters the further international expansion of car2go and ensures continued execution of the company’s success-story.
Before joining car2go Roland Keppler held the position of the chairman of Europcar SA (Paris), Europe’s biggest car rental provider, being in charge of all corporate responsibilities from February 2012 until mid-2014. As one of the managers of the German car-rental branch of Europcar, Keppler had already been part of the founding group of the car2go joint-venture between Daimler and Europcar in 2010.
The industrial engineer started his career in 1992 working in controlling for the Preussag AG, the predecessor company of the TUI AG, the today world-wide known travel company. In 2003, he took on the commercial management of HLX, the low cost carrier of TUI. After the merger with the charter airline Hapag-Lloyd to TUIfly, he held the position of chairman of the management of TUIfly until the end of 2009.
